We maybe be looking at another one episode arc but is that totally true.  Let's find out with episode 20 "How long has Saijou Kyu been a Roidmude?".  We start off with Gou, Kiriko, and Tomari heading to a book signing Kyu is doing for a book he wrote.  On the way a Slowdown event happens and Gou heads out in advance while Tomari waits on Buckle to arrive.  We see the Roidmude 072 holding a lady closes to the edge of a roof but is soon distracted by the appearance of Gou.  072 is impressed by Gou's intro and is excited to meet a Rider.  When Tomari arrives he asks why he doesn't do one and Tomari improves one before wondering what his deal is.  Two more Roidmudes arrive and are partially evolved.  They attack 072 initially but soon go after the Riders which give 072 a chance to leave.

          The Riders manage to drive the two off and head off to join Kiriko as she tracked 072 to an apartment building.  They enter the apartment to find two Kyu's and decide to arrest them both for now.  At the executive's boat we find out the two Roidmudes from before are acting as the Reapers in the stead of Chase being unable to.  Medic is overseeing this and passively insults Brain because she feels like it.  At the station the two Kyu's are divided by the color of shirt they wear and are separated to be interviewed.  We find out his real name is Imai Kenta and while Gen and Rinna are unsuccessful Kiriko and Tomari manage to get the real story.  072 copied Kyu on New Year's Day while he was searching for info on the Riders.  072 eventually stayed at his apartment and has switched with him several times.  We soon find out Otta was successful and he received the same story.  Tomari is a bit stumped for now but a clue comes in the form of Kyu asking him about anime.  Down at The Pit Tomari has almost finished watching Murmur Mansion, a black and white style anime and seems to have figured things out and looks for some help from the Shift Cars.

          The two Kyu's have been released and after a failed fake attack by Otta reveals nothing.  Tomari arrives with a limited edition plate from the anime and throws it to reveal the fake one.  072 is able to catch the plate and runs off while Kyu tries to prevent the rest of the team from chasing him.  Tomari and Kiriko confront 072 about the situation and find out Kyu has been covering for the Roidmude.  072 fell in love with the anime Kyu had him watch and this lead to a friendship between the two.  They split up the other day so one could cover the book signing and the other could go to the press conference for the movie based off the anime.  We get an explanation for why 072 attacked the random girl which wasn't really an attack and we soon see that there are good Roidmudes or at least two good ones.  This gives hope to the two of them when it comes to Chase but Medic and the reapers arrive to destroy 072 for being defective.  Gou arrives to handle the three of them so Tomari and Kiriko can help 072.  The Roidmude tells them to tell Kyu he went rouge and attacked the Rider.  He pushes the two away and explodes which enrages Tomari.  He goes Type Speed and readies himself to exact some justice.

          Gou finds himself outnumbered and Medic hints at the Promised Number we have heard about before.  Tomari arrives accosting her for calling herself the new Reaper when Chase at least gave defective Roidmudes another chance while he outright kills them.  He calls her a demon and goes Dead Heat.  Tomari is able to overpower the two numbers and is able to get a blow in on Medic before she pushes him back with a laser.  Tomari adds Max Flare to Dead Heat and goes for a Rider Kick to finish Medic off.  He only manages to destroy 044 and 094 which Medic used to escape.  Back at the station the team is a bit sad about the situation but look to move forward.  We end with Medic being very unhappy about the paper cut she received from Tomari and revels her monster form for the first time.

          This week does look to be an one off episode but I will wait for next week's episode to make any final call.  This week did give Kyu some much needed spotlight and it was nice for another S.C.U. member to get some development.  072 gave us our first look at a Roidmude who didn't want to just kill people and gave the team hope that Chase can be returned to his heroic ways.  Medic shows she can be quite the cruel executive and her actions could lead to a divide among the leadership of the Roidmudes.  Tomari shows he can branch out from his gear-head side which we really have seen very little of.  Overall this was a nice episode with good character development for one of the weaker characters of the show.  Next week bodies are piling up and Chase seems to be behind it.  The team is on the case but will need the help of a new Shift Car Shift Formula.
