7:44 PMRecap and Review: Kamen Rider Gaim Episode 32
The city is in chaos and our heroes are on the ropes what can turn the tide of this battle and win the day. Let's find out in episode thirty-two of Kamen Rider Gaim "The Strongest Power! Kiwami Arms!" We pick up from last week with Kaito and Zach taking on Demushu. They are giving it everything they got just stay even with him and possibly drive him off. Sengoku takes this opportunity to mount another attack which only serves to send Demushu running. Back in Helheim we see Redyue have a conversation with Roshuo about something before he heads off with Sid's hat to give it to Micchy. Roshuo tells Takatora that he is going to mount an attack on the city. Micchy tags along with Redyue to see what is up. At Team Gaim HQ we see Kouta is still out of it and recovering and Mai gets filled in on what is going on.
We then see Kurokage Troops have taken to the streets to enforce martial law on the city to keep the Inves at bay. Zach wonders if the Beat Riders will get some love from the city back but Kaito tells him to focus on the big picture and wonders about a very worrisome idea about Demushu's biology. We next see Demushu eat some Helheim plants and looks to be evolving. Meanwhile Kouta wakes up and wants to get back in the fight. Mai tells him he needs to rest since can barely stand without help at the moment. Kouta doesn't like the situation turning out like this and then Sagara appears to tell him that he wouldn't understand there feeling since he hasn't lost his world. We also see Redyue tell Micchy that his world is interesting and he wants to rule this world and has plans to take the fruit from Roshuo. He then takes a Inves army through the reopened crack in Yggdrasill HQ and begins his assault on the city. Back with Kouta he is not happy with Sagara for seemingly lying to him. Sagara defends himself by saying he told him the truth and he jumped to conclusions about the Overlords. Sagara heals Kouta's wounds and offers him the power of a Overlord since that will be the only thing that can save the world. He freezes the two of them in place after Mai charges him and Kouta follows. Sagara then lays it out for Kouta that he needs to defeat everybody else for the fruit and then rule in order to save. Mai tells him he is not telling him everything but Sagara shows him the Kiwami Lockseed tempting our hero with power.
Redyue's army takes Yggdrasill Tower easily and it is now overgrown with Helheim plants. Sengoku makes his escape in a rocket and leaves Minato to deal with the army. She is surrounded by Inves before Kaito and Zach arrive to help. Soon Jono arrives to join the fight followed by Pierre and all five riders unite under the command of Kaito to take down the Inves. Kaito questions Minato on her allegiance to Sengoku and she says the she is with Kaito now since Sengoku pretty much abounded her. The five together are able to turn the tide and take down the Inves. The victory is short lived as Demushu arrives recharged and powered up to take own that Rider team.
Back at Team Gaim HQ Sagara tells Mai that he wants to put the most potent power in the hands of a wild card. That way the game he is playing will be more fun. Kouta forces his way to pick up the Lockseed even under Sagara's influence. Kouta gets the Lockseed and Sagara disappears since his job is done. Back with the Riders they are having a tough time fighting Demushu. A combo of five finishers are not even enough to faze him and they are all knocked down. They refuse to give up and Kouta finally arrives to end this fight her and now. He declares to move forward and goes Kachidoki to give Demushu a sword slash before he goes Kiwami Arms. The silver shogun form is able to summon any of the weapons of the riders and with the use of various weapons and combinations of weapons he sends Demushu on his heels. With a Banana Spear Squash he traps Demushu and finishes it with the combined DJ Gun Muso Saber Au Leit slash. Kouta is shocked by his new power and we end with one Overlord down but the city still under siege.
Kiwami Arms defiantly looks cool and this was a great introduction to Gaim's Final Form. I would like for there to be more color in places but overall it looks good and the use of multiple weapons opens up the possibility for many great fight scenes to come. Kouta shows his resolve to move forward even in the face of uncertainty with who has been using him. Kaito shows his leadership qualities by uniting the five of them together and buying Kouta time to get there. Minato shows that he allegiances are changing but is this temporary or is this the sign of bigger changes to come. Mai gets a little bit in terms of her concern for Kouta and I wonder how their relationship will change over time. The rest of the Riders get some nice time to themselves and this is defiantly setting the stage for an all out war for not just the city but humanity to come. Sagara continues to be a unknown piece in this game and I wonder when he will take center stage and whether it will be hero or villain. Overall a fantastic episode marked by the debut of a new form and another big shift in the veritable chess game of this show. Next week Kouta and the rest of the Riders look to evacuate anybody left in the city, Redyue starts to put his plans into motion and Micchy is on the verge of being unmasked as Nise Zangetsu.
