9:57 PMRecap and Review: Kamen Rider Gaim Episode 39
How will Kouta contend with this new turn of events. Let's hop right in to episode thirty-nine of Kamen Rider Gaim "The Make-or-Break Tower Infiltration Plan!". We start off with Kouta telling the group back at Team Gaim HQ that he will go along with Sengoku's plan. Not everybody is happy about this but they will back him up and go along with it. They will rescue Mai and the others no matter what. The only ones not going along will be the injured Peko and Chucky. After that scene and the opening we cut to Micchy talking to Mai. Micchy tells her nothing will happen to her as long as he is with her. She tells him that she wants the old Micchy back but we all know that is not happening. Eventually Takatora's ghost returns to pester him some more and tell him she will just be another person who doesn't understand him. He is absolutely levied about this and Mai sees him yelling at the wall.
We check back in with Team United Melody as they are on their way to Sengoku's secret passage to Yggdrasill Tower. They find the roadblock out of Zawame City unguarded and Sengoku tells them about portals opening all over the world. Of course he explains this in a way to try to get a rise out of anyone there. We cut back to Yggdrasill Tower to find Akira and Rat attached to Redyue's machine since they were caught sneaking around. Micchy doesn't seem to care since they refused to listen to him and even threatens Redyue outright after he tells him to use Mai as bait for Kouta. Redyue simply finds this amusing. Checking back in with our heroes and Sengoku they are ambushed by a horde of Inves before they can make it to the entrance. Kouta, Kaito, Jono, and Pierre initially fight them but Jono and Pierre decide to hang back in order for the others to move on. Kouta doesn't like this decision but goes along with the other as they escape. The comedic duo are in deep trouble but are resolved to push on as we very well may have seen them fight for the last time, except for when we see them still fighting five minutes later.
We see Roshuo mull over how the Golden Fruit can't reach his love in the after live. Micchy arrives to leave Mai in his custody and judge her as the only worthy thing of surviving the old world. Micchy even says that if he doesn't find her worthy he will accept this judgment. Meanwhile the rest of Team United Melody arrive at the entrance. Sengoku manages to get a rise out of Kouta over the comedic duo being left behind. Kaito gets him to back off and punches Sengoku himself for his tactless remarks. We cut back to Mai and Roshuo as she tells him that she believes her friends will rescue her but is scared that they will put themselves in great danger doing so. Roshuo counters with Micchy's actions recently but Mai counters right back with how she still wants to trust Micchy even if he has betrayed her already. She even comments on how empty his castle is since he doesn't trust anyone anymore. Back with Team United Melody as they activate the unmanned security system consisting of Tulip Hoppers and Suika Arms. Kaito, Minato, and Zack hold off the bots as Sengoku and Kouta move on ahead. Zack goes Suika arms himself and they manage to defeat the first wave, but many others still remain. Kouta and Sengoku have a quick conversation about trust and how Sengoku trust no one and Kouta trusts people too much. The two finally make it to enemy territory and activate Redyue's security system.
The two are ambushed by the Turtle Overlord from last episode. Kouta does his best but is outclassed in Orange Arms. Sengoku decides it is time he hops in and shows Kouta what a tuned up Genesis Driver is like. He is able to drive the Overlord off easily and uses Holograms from a Lemon Energy squash along with a Charge Shot from his Sonic Arrow to send him back. He tags in Kouta to do the rest, and after a smack down in Kachidoki he goes Kiwami to fight the Overlord on even ground. Sengoku analysis Kouta while he fights and is impressed by the power Kouta now wields. With a Orange Charge from the DJ Gun another Overlord bites the dust and Sengoku now wants to find out the extent of the Kiwami Lockseed Kouta has. We end with Kouta declaring he will save the other.
This episode is the mark of the final run in terms of story for Gaim. This is the last stand for our heroes as if they fail now there is no other option to save the world then. Everyone gets a chance to show their stuff this episode and now all the riders are in one place going for one goal, except for Sengoku who has his own schemes in the work at the moment. No real big character development as this episode is here to set the pieces in place for the rest of the episodes to come. This was a good episode but it is more a stepping stone to greater things to come. In two weeks Sengoku shows himself to Mai, Kaito and Micchy battle it out, and Yuuya returns with a Orange Lockseed?!
