6:43 PM Recap and Review: Kamen Rider Gaim Episode 26 |
Well guys after taking a breather from the main plot yesterday let's hop right back into the fire with episode twenty-six of Kamen Rider Gaim "Baron's Genesis Transformation!" We kick things off with Mai wanting to talk to Kouta. She knows he is hiding something and wants the truth. Kouta is reluctant to tell her anything especially anything about Yuuya. He eventually tells her that Yuuya was turned into an Inves and was killed by him. All Kouta can do is apologize for what he has done and try to make up for what he has done. Mai only asks when he found out and we see Mai try to comfort Kouta for trying to bear everything on his shoulders. The two embrace in a close hug as they share the feelings. We cut to Takatora talking about Project Ark and he is talking to some unknown person about its progress. Takatora seems a bit hesitant but everything is on track. Micchy is there to ask how he is doing. Takatora says he is fine and he needs to be prepared to take up the duty of those with special talent. We cut to the opening from there. Back from the opening we see Mai tell the members of Team United Melody about the end of the world she was told about from Kouta. Micchy is there a bit pissed Mai is in the loop now and even admits to knowing the truth too. We cut to Kouta at Drupers and Bando even says that he looks a bit happier today. One of the Team Gaim girls calls Kouta to ask him to drop by the stage where Mai is going to tell people what Kouta told her. Before Mai can do so Micchy covertly releases multiple Inves to attack the civilians and Beat Riders. They are blamed for the Inves and Micchy and Zack henshin to deal with the goons. Kouta arrives shortly and with the two plus his Strawberry Arms Charge attack the dispatch the Inves. Mai is disappointed that this happened but okay otherwise. Micchy losses it and blames Kouta for everything and says he has no right to be a hero for making her sad. Mai slaps Micchy for his remarks but Kouta is quick to attempt to diffuse the situation before it gets out of hand. We cut to Sengoku as he reviews data from Kaito's fight with the red Overlords and says that he will not be able to do the job and is ready to wash his hands of him. Minato convinces Sengoku that Kaito has some untapped potential within him and with one more chance he will do a better job. Sengoku notes this is unlike her but will go ahead with her idea. Micchy drops by to bargain with the two over going through with his plan for the Overlords in exchange for keeping quiet about his knowledge to his brother. We then cut to Kaito as he receives a Genesis Driver from Minato to continue his job. Zack sees the exchange and asks him who the lady was. Kaito is honest with him and Zack is left wondering why Kaito would do this. Kaito says he is using them to gain power to win his own future just like he should do. We cut to Kouta and Micchy in Helheim as they hunt for the Overlords. Kouta manages to find the sound of one of them with Jinba Peach and as he runs off Micchy reports the location to Minato who reports it to Kaito unaware of the scheme in motion. We then see Minato fire a blank shot at Micchy to distract Kouta while Kaito fights the red Overlord. We see Kaito use the Genesis Driver to transform into Baron Lemon Energy Arms while Kouta fights Minato elsewhere. Kouta shows how far he has grown as a fighter or how much Minato is holding back and ends the fight with Kachidoki Arms. Kouta heads back to meet up with Micchy who tells him to go on ahead without him. He leaves and we see Minato join Micchy and he decides to take out Kouta himself. We see Kaito is able to be on par if not a bit better than the red Overlord and is able to even wound him with a Lemon Energy Charge Shot. The Overlord is not happy about this and even speaks Japanese for the first time. Kouta attempts to break up the fight to no avail and the red Overlord leaves after Redue, the green Overlord, tells him to run and he does so. We also find out the red Overlord is named Demushu. Kaito attempts to give chase but ends up in a disagreement with Kouta. This was going to lead to a fight but Micchy takes a shot at Kouta from behind as he transforms into Kachidoki Arms and knocks Kouta unconscious. With this betrayal we end this week's episode. Micchy finally shows his true colors as the snake of the show as he betrays Kouta's trust and is ready to kill him then and there so Mai will be all his. Kouta pays for his trust in Micchy but gets Mai back into the main plot and reinforces the idea that killing both Hase and Yuuya have taken a toll on him and actually talking about it with somebody may just be what he needs to move forward. Mai does her best this week but doesn't get to accomplish her goal although I suspect this won't be her last attempt at something like this. Kaito gets a new arms and from what I read this was completely unplanned and it shows that a bit. We see no change in the under suit like Takatora's transition but it still looks cool. I believe Kouta made the right call since Yuuya was not just his friend but Mai's as well and she should know what happen to him. Mai did what she thought was right and I have to give her credit for trying. Overall this was another great episode and next week's looks to pick right where we left off to get this show back on its speedy track to the end. Next week Kouta comes face to face with two of his strongest adversaries and this time alliances may be changing.
